In the summer of 2005, the naval city of Den Helder gave birth to brutal death metal band Pulverised.
Influenced by a lot of U.S. style death metal bands like Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Suffocation and the Dutch Pyaemia, Cris and Sander decided to start a band to combine these influences into one brutal sound.

This culminated in Pulverised, straight up, brutal, in-your-face death metal.
In the years to come the band had to endure a lot of member changes, with bassplayers coming and going, guitarists joining and moving away before rejoining and a multitude of drummers, including ‘Hertog Nina’ the famed drumcomputer taking to the stage.
After a while a steady core of Cris(guitar), Manus(bass) and Robert(vocals) took shape and with this brutal trinity Pulverised thundered on, tearing up stages throughout The Netherlands. The summer of 2007 saw the release of the first self-produced cd ‘Mutilated Face’, containing the title track as well as the songs ‘Dead, Rotten, Devoured’ and ‘The Arrival’.

After promoting the cd with several gigs throughout the country, the band was reinforced in late 2008 by the drumming skills and madness of Cees de Wit. With this fourth member added to the mix, Pulverised sounded better than ever and in the summer of 2009 the recordings for a second cd were underway.

‘Dead, Rotten, Devoured’ turned into a (again) self-produced, five-track disc of bone grinding death metal. Tackling a wide variety of current-day issues from politics (‘Mugabe Bukkake’) to the influence of gaming (‘Legions of Azaroth’) to the zombie apocalypse (‘Bloodbath City’), the band has shown continuous growth.

Another addition to the band came in late 2009/early 2010 in the form of Kees on second guitar. At the end of the summer of that year Manus left the band and Marc Doorn came on to take up the bass part. Pulverised continues to tour the Low Countries and its members are working on writing new songs in between playing gigs.

The spring of 2011 saw dark days coming to Pulverised with the departure of it’s last founding father. After 6 years of sharing blood, sweat and beers with his beloved Pulverised, the union could be no more and Cris took his leave from the duties of Guitar Player of Mad Skillz. But as they say with the sunshine after the rain, the ups after the downs, the hills beyond the valleys and the sense of relief after a bad case of constipation, things started to look up again eventually. Vigorously writing new songs and facemelting riffs, the remaining soldiers of the Pulvered Ops Squad have begun work on their next album, to be released by the end of 2011. So keep checking in with us…

Lead Guitar: Kees van Doorn
